自分史を書くには

What steps do you take to start writing your autobiography? That depends on many things. Do you have experience writing? How proficient are you in written language? Have you read a lot? Has your reading included autobiographies? What message do you want your autobiography to convey? What is your reason for writing it? What is the purpose?
Without knowing the answers to these questions, I would suggest your first steps should be to cast your mind back and try to recall, in as much detail as possible, all the significant events in your life. Write down what you remember. Write descriptions of places that had meaning in your life and of significant people in your world. Don’t worry too much, at first, about the literary merit of your writing. Just sort out the memories and get it all on paper. Then you will need to go back over it to select the significant events, people and places and shape your notes into scenes that show, rather than tell, about what occurred and how it affected you. At that point, if you are not proficient in writing, you may need to take some writing courses, find a mentor, or even engage a ghost writer. But it is vital that you identify exactly what purpose writing is intended to serve, because that will determine the tone of the work, what should be included, and which scenes should be given more emphasis.
